VICTORIA MITCHELL, CANADA

COORDINATOR & EDUCATOR, E-RYT 500, YACEP

Victoria’s passion for yoga sparked while studying abroad in Mysore, India ten years ago. Since then, she has practiced internationally on her travels and has been teaching abroad in Taiwan, India, Bali, Canada and Portugal after receiving training in Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga.

Her most recent training is with Kinesiologist Arielle Nash and KPJAYI certified teacher Paul Dallaghan at Samahita Retreat in Koh Samui, Thailand. There she completed two hundred advanced hours on Anatomy. Her studies focused on somatic movement and fascial integration pertaining to adjustments and alignment for the primary and intermediate Ashtanga Vinyasa series. At Samahita Tori also spent one hundred advanced hours dedicated to learning traditional Pranayama methods as taught to Paul under the twenty year guidance of Sri OP Tiwari. Additionally she has trained in Pranayama with Krisnamacharya’s student BNS Iyengar at the Krishnamachar Yoga Shala in Mysore, India where she also studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Asana and Philosophy with Raviji. Tori has also explored other therapeutic methods through her studies in Ayurvedic Massage at Om Ayurveda Yoga Health & Research Centre in Mysore, India and Reiki Level 1 in Ao Nang, Thailand.

Victoria is the founder of VIBE YOGA, originally based in Tainan, Taiwan. Through her school Victoria has offered specialized workshops, teacher trainings and retreats. Currently she teaches at Casa Vinyasa, 6 Senses Yoga and Agora Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal. Victoria’s teaching style is strongly influenced by her athletic background (dance, soccer, tennis, gymnastics, skiing, diving, freediving, scuba diving, taekwondo). Drawing on these active practices she has found the concept of movement to be an integral aspect of her style when designing sequencing for her Hatha, Vinaysa, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Yin classes. Victoria is a firm believer in the physical and mental benefits of yoga practices. She believes that everyone can benefit from some movement and yoga in their life.
